I just wanted to say "hi" and thank you for this opportunity to participate in the Bike Forums. I have been riding enthusiastically since I bought my first "racing" bicycle, a new Schwinn Continental, with money saved from my paper route in 1969. I used to race for the Michiana Cycle Racing Team while a student at the University of Notre Dame. My last (real) race was a criterium here in Austin, Texas, back in the late 1980's, where I competed on my mint 1963 Schwinn Paramount track bicycle. My current bicycles are a 1982 Eddy Merckx Corsa I bought new in Chicago, a Cannondale Super-V 1000 mountain bike, a 2011 Cannondale Road Tandem, and a 1995 Nashbar mountain tandem. I'm looking for another fixed-gear bike to replace the Paramount (I was afraid to ride it, it was so nice). I look forward to interacting with this group, sharing my knowledge and learning from you.
