Commuting - Schwinn Express- what's it worth?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I'm looking into buying a new bike for commuting. I'm riding a fuji crosstown now and want a steel bike with no suspension. I found a 96 or 97 Schwinn Express on craigslist. It seems like a very middle of the road hybrid. It has hardly been ridden and stored in a garage all it's life.
Any opinions on this bike? She's asking $200... I know that's way too high I don't plan on paying near that for it. I don't know haw firm she is on it. And I don't know if this bike is worth getting and putting some different bars on.
I appreciate any input!

MSRP was $329 in 1997. I'd suggest low-balling, even if it doesn't have issues. ;)

Hi there Pauschl!
On Bikepedia, it's featured as a woman's bike. Also, I'd complain about maybe not having enough cash in the beginning and see if she's still eager to carry on the conversation. Ask up front, if she'll accept $125. If she says no, give her your number and wait a couple of hours and call her back. Offer $125 again. If she still says no, then go to $150. The way she responds will let you know if you should continue trying to drop the price. If she sounds too firm, then stop playing games and drop the $200!
Whatever you do, don't let the bike go!

PS.
The most important thing to focus on, is the fit. Make certain that the bike rides well and that it's comfortable, before you pay!
