Touring - Bicycle Tour of Colorado

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I know it's a little early but the BTC posted the June 2012 route, it actually goes into Wyoming a little this year, anyone considering riding it?
I rode it last June and what an amazing 7 days! I'm in again this year, going to try it with compact gears (last year used bike with triple) so must train starting now!
Looks good! Days two and three might be the toughest if the wind is blowing from the west, especially day three which is 111 miles. I'd start riding as soon as the sky starts to light up in the morning, I'll take the morning chill any day over afternoon Wyoming winds.

Good advice, last year my "biking" jacket was warm but way too bulky, I think I'll pop for that expensive one (forgot the brand) that folds down to the size of an innertube! My biggest complaint last year was, as the day warmed and I shed clothes, I had no good place to stow stuff (and I just don't want to add racks/bigger luggage). I used a handlebar bag and an expandable underseat bag and would like to keep it that way.
You should lobby BTC to offer a gear drop at the morning rest stops. This looks to be an interesting and beautiful ride, have fun!!

That's a great idea (for all I know, they do it already and I just didn't notice!). I'll surly ck that out. Thanks.

They do, big trash cans to put your stuff in, then find it when you get back. Just ask where it is, usually near the water truck.

I rode BTC in 2010. It was the first time I did a big organized ride like that. It was great.
I'm thinking of doing the Rocky Mtn Bicycle Tour (http://crmbt.com/home.html) in August. It's a smaller crowd, tops out at 500 riders.
