I'll continue riding this winter in Minnesota, and need studded tires. I stopped at my local bike shop today, and they had a well used pair of tires that I wasn't really interested in buying. I wanted to talk to a few people here first and see what recommendations people had.

My tires are 700 x 35c Kenda K-948 and my bike is a Fuji Sunfire (http://www.bikepedia.com/quickbike/BikeSpecs.aspx?Year=2011&Brand=Fuji&Model=Sunfire%202.0&Type=bike). Here's an old photo (it has fenders now, thanks to you guys!).

What would people suggest? I'd like to spend the money to get something decent. Also, is there anyplace online to buy them?

If you're going to buy, buy soon! Winter tires often go out of stock soon as everyone is purchasing them in preparation for the winter season.

These are going into the their second season while many other studded tyres I have made will be going into their 5th and 6th seasons of use and just retired a set we built for my little sister over 10 years ago.

For urban riding off camber studs are the way to go as riding on dry pavement will wear down the centre studs in no time and if you are going in a straight line you really don't need them... by running lower psi in the tyres the off camber studs will engage sooner if needed.
