I asked for input about converting my C'Dale R500T to a double last spring. At the time I said I'd keep the triple. After returning to riding I decided to go back to the double crank I liked so much.
I assembled the parts from ebay and my LBS. Still need a FD due to clearance between the seat tube and the rear tire, the RSX FD has too much bulk on the back side for where I had to move it to with the larger big ring:twitchy:. Everything went together well. The parts were in better condition than described for both the RD and the crank/bottom bracket. I picked up the park tools and a SRAM 6-7-8 speed compatible chain at the LBS and will get a FD tomorrow.
I am jazzed to be back on the double that I like so well. Sorry to go against the advice:innocent: but i just wanted to do this project. I have the triple crank and the BB if I want to go back to the stock set up. Thanks for the input even if I am a hardheaded Marine:roflmao2:.
