Electric Bikes - Carpal Tunnel from Thumb Throttle

So, I've been loving my first e-bike for about a month now. Last week I moved to a new house further away from work, so my commute more than doubled to 9.5 miles one way. Now, by the time I get to work, the top of my hand is sore from holding the thumb throttle down all that time. I tried readjusting my position, holding it in place with a more passive grip, but nothing really works. Have any of you experienced this, and is there a throttle type that you prefer over a thumb throttle?

Torque sensor on the rear wheel. The harder you pedal, the more throttle you give to the motor. Completely hands free riding :D

half grip twist throttles are my personal preference, you can apply X amount of throttle and hold both halves ( the outer most portion being stationary gives you an easy way to pin the throttle into position )

Full grip twists i found dangerous and twitchy..

You could also get a cruise control unit .. press the button and let go of the throttle.. but i do not recommend this in city driving and i would strongly urge the use of e-brake levers with one.

I've been using half grip throttles since 2008 as well. I stand up in the clips often and, as Ypedal, states, being able to put your weight on the outer, stationary grip and be able to hold the throttle in position with a normal grip on the bars is essential.

My bikes have trigger shifters instead of grip shifters to allow for the grip throttle to be used. Easy swap to do. The grip throttle and trigger shifter combo makes it a non-issue to shift AND maintain throttle at the same time.
