Foo - what is your favourite writing notebook/pad?

yesterday I found a stenopad on my station at work. I like how there is a line in the middle. haha it's awesome.

I also have a composition notebook that is just graph paper.
I think i have a weird obsession with notebooks and pens.

I use graph paper and a mechanical pencil.

another stationary lover here - someday soon I want to order some stationary and actually write people again. Haven't done that in ages. I really miss getting letters.

I have a huge shoe box jammed with new notebooks, waiting to be filled - and several boxes filled with old journals. I normally blow through a notebook in as little as a month, but I've been so busy the past few months I haven't had much time to write.

My favorites so far are Claire Fontaine (http://www.exaclair.com/brands_clairefontaine.shtml), followed by Rhodia (http://www.rhodiapads.com/) (made by the same parent company), for their paper. This is for a fountain pen, mostly...I also bought a Quo Vadis (http://quovadisplanners.com/), and a Moleskin (http://www.moleskine.com/) but haven't tried them yet.

I use everything from fountain pens to felt tips to pencils to write so sometimes I like an inexpensive paper that is more porous (bad for fountain pens, okay for ball points). A basic Mead or other brand of 'marble' or spiral bound notebook are fun to use. I also use drawing pads and like to paste in clippings and whatnot.

For a really nice journal you can refill, Oberon Designs (http://www.oberondesign.com/Journal.php)makes nice leather covers. Their refill paper is decent, nothing special.

The BEST paper hands down I've ever used was a leather-bound (non-refillable) Italian Journal - I am maybe 2/3 through it, I use it sparingly b/c I will hate to see it filled and no longer usable. Very creamy smooth paper...and pretty expensive ($50-100), my wife got it for me. There is no brand name inside; I once did an exhaustive online search - I think this (http://www.jennibick.com/roma-lussa.html) is it, but not sure. I would gladly buy another - it works great with every kind of writing instrument.

I always carry a harcover Composition pocketbook with me and my pen of choice is ******* rollerball pen.

Which ******* rollerball do you like E? My wife loves the Jet stream, but I find it makes my handwriting even worse than usual. I do like their Vision pens quite a bit. *******'s blue is a very nice shade too.

I like the Vision Elite. It's good for writing on forms that are in triplicate too which I do alot of at work. I may never move up to a nice fountain pen since everything we do is in triplicate.

But I digress. My fav is the trusty and cheap Bic medium and a legal pad.

you got my number. alright. I was trying to see how many times I could use ******* in one post. Although, to be fair, this is a thread about writing, so the mention of uniballs is certainly within reason. And I honestly do like Uniballs.

Staedtler also makes a 'liquid point' rollerball - not quite as good as the Vision, but close. Pilot Precise is good also.

I love Pilot's razor point felt tip for labeling tapes (yes, I still use VHS and Compact Cassettes) and other tight areas, and for my checkbook and small date book (where I use both sides of the paper) I use Sakura Microns - they don't bleed through the thin cheap paper.

Moleskine notebooks or Miquelrius Notebooks. Pens, I like Pilot G-2s.

ooooo when i was in 8th grade the science teacher took us to a field to take notes, she had like waterproof/fireproof (i'm pretty sure she said fireproof) paper. it was awesome but i think it needed a special pencil/pen. i can't seem to find any around here.

Notebooks are generally whatever I can get my hands on. For drawing though.... love some rag vellum.

I don't really have any use for a writing notebook. I have thought of getting an Ipad or some sort of e-reader so I can read electronic books in pdf format, though.

.7mm mechanical pencil on engineering paper. I have one pad of graph paper and one legal-size pad on my desk, but I know there's engineering paper hiding in here somewhere.

Lots of good suggestions here. I would also throw the Black n' Red brand into the mix.

I just use whatever I have nearby. The law firm keeps all sorts of different notebooks in the office supply closet. Sometimes I mix it up.

my favorite is a japanese brand thats made with camel leather and looks amazing....

I like writing fiction, but the problem is that, my handwriting is so bad, that when I go to transcribe it on the computer, I can't even read it. Regardless...

I like writing in spiral notebooks, of no particular make. As for writing utensil, Pilot G2 Gel. But I also like a nice, sharp No. 2 or No. 2 1/2 pencil.
