I am a bit early but Thursday, 10 November 1775 at Tun Tavern, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania the United States Marine Corps was organized. For 236 years unquestioning devotion to our country and the concepts of Duty Honesty and Integrity have been paramount to the existence of our organization.
The concept of Semper Fidelis or Always Faithful truly means something in my life and in everything I do. To every man and woman ever to wear an Eagle Globe and Anchor device and the title Marine I say Happy Birthday to our Corps. Thanks to my DIs for everything they taught me and how much this has helped me in my life.
Bill Barnard, LCPL MAW, 1975-1977
Few events in my life were as memorable as PI and Camp Geiger in the winter and spring of 1969-1970. Then basic and ITR (Infantry Training Regiment, all Marines take infantry training) took a combined 6 months, a time frame with no liberty, no civilian contact other than family visits on Sunday. A lot of it was funny-----now.

Boot camp was longer for us and we got what amounted to ITR there. Different times for y'all. Semper Fi!
I did not serve, but wish the Corps a Happy Birthday, and sincerly thank all who did and do for keeping us safe.
Happy Birthday, and Thank You.

I called my sister (2001-2005) (and brother-in-law (2000-2005), via text) yesterday to say happy birthday. Apparently, I'm the only family member that remembers.
