Foo - Is vodka filtering an acceptable analogy when working with teachers?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I am doing a in-service on how to analyze data. We are going to look at three questions that should get us focused on a specific goal. I am thinking about comparing the questions to filtering vodka. The more filtering we do the better goal we get.

Good idea or bad idea?

I may offer shots of vodka to make my point.

Make sure you offer shots of vodka before the in-service.

Of course, who wants to sit through two hours of me talking?

Hey as a former (it's always in your blood) teacher, it wouldn't bother me at all....but you might find some who poo-poo it.

So how does this work? You drink the vodka and then pee into a filter?

Let me see if I have this right...

You're asking a bunch of people on the inter-webs that you know nothing about a question about teacher training.

And you are asking in a place called "foo".

That about right?

I think Three Minutes is a bit off in the coconut. You cannot expect someone that spends a predominance of his or her time around a bunch of educators and students to be exactly normal, can you? I think he raises a valid point.

Can you work main lining into your training?

I am not sure why the IQ meter here is labeled "Posts:" I just checked it and calibrated it, and it appears to be working perfectly.

If he asked this question in the Road forum, we would just move it here.

Do you refer to this moving process as "vodka filtering" by any chance?

Filtering vodka is easy, there's isn't much more than alcohol and water. I prefer to filter beer. It's more of a workout. Sometimes bourbon makes for a nice change.

I'm pretty sure you don't have it calibrated for folks with "Yellow Jersey" icons.

I only have one brain cell and I loaned it out recently.

Ya'll know that ThreeSeconds (no way could he last ThreeMinutes) used to post under another name, right? He is a friend of Couch and he has questionable morals, or so I have been told. Need I say more. And he is from Ohio. You know what they say about guys from Ohio, right?

And Chipcom vouches for him.

So, what needs to be done first: count the silverware or check the livestock?

Would the teachers get the analogy? Probably. Is it professional? No. Would I do it? Definitely not!

I think it's a great idea if you're training TAs for college chemistry but not so sure about high school.

Is vodka good bait to use for trolling?

Or is trolling even possible on the Foo Forum?
