General Cycling Discussion - Now this is what you call a "hot" bike

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I have a friend who records scanner radio traffic. This is an actual fire dispatch for a bicycle on fire. :D

I'm trying to figure out what part of a bike could catch fire. Maybe it was a short-circuit on an e-bike.

Spontaneous vehicular combustion. Happens to carbon bikes.

Maybe lighting a tube patch?

Thanks for the video. (audio). Yours Truly is no longer the only "hot" bike.

Back in my younger days it was not uncommon for me to ride with such RPM as to combust the grease in my bottom bracket.

At least that's the way I remember it.

I think "maybe" you could've gone down a long steep hill and heated up the rear hub-Coaster Brake. Not the BB, but the Coaster Brake Hub.
