I saw something like this once before, but it was a robot riding an E-Bike. This robot actually powers the bike by pedaling.

We don't need Bike Lanes. In the Future, the roads will be policed by Bicycle riding Robo-Cops. The Robo-Cops will weigh 1,500 pounds , and be capable of stopping a speeding car.

its interesting but can it walk too or is it just able to ride the bike? im sure hell be able to get it to. what would be impressive is if that works on full scale and what would be really impressive is a human sized robot playing soccer. and i dont mean those little box shaped robots but a human shaped one.

Yes, it can walk. If you watch the interview again, the inventor says it's an off-the-shelf robot, which he (the inventor) modified to ride the bike .The
inventor custom built the bike for the robot. The video has English subtitles , if you can't understand Japanese.

Also note, the electronics for the bike riding are in a back-pack on the robots back.

Robots are doing all kinds of things, dancing, jumping rope, etc.

Some use accelerometers that can approximate the capabilities of the human inner ear. Basically, they can also learn how to do things.

err no. i meant as it is can it do both or is it limited to 1 or the other? and yep i know they can do all sorts of things but they tend to be only able to do 1 thing. im eagerly awaiting the man or woman, to invent a robot that can do multiple things and i dont mean things that are similar so dont need much more programming or anything. like 1 that can ride a bike, dance, jump rope, tie a knot, maybe make a origami crane. :D

edit: yeah i figured the stuff on the back was the balance stuff. and yep off the shelf but it was modified so im curious if it can still do both without modifying it again?

Maybe, maybe not. But at least it's progress. Someday I would like to ride a tandem with a robot stoker on the rear of the bike.

I don't think it matters if the robot can still walk, after the mods.. It looks like the robot can't mount or dismount the bike on it's own. I don't know if the robot is on a seat, I think the seat post goes directly into the robot's bung hole, and is firmly clamped thereupon . Would you still be able to walk? (sorry if this thought is disturbing).

The video narrator states that it is a "Bipedal" robot, which means it can walk. It must have some kind of program or app that allows it to ride the bike. I personally would not bother the inventor to show if the robot can still walk, leave that to another improved version of the robot. It has to mount and dismount the bike on it's own (and be full size) before it can be really useful. But it IS Progress. Like the old saying goes "Only a fool criticizes unfinished work."
