Advocacy & Safety - Cycling Billboard I found on streetview...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Translation via google translate:
"release the spare tire, bike more."

If only we had that in the United States.

Sadly, the corporations that make money making us obese will have none of that. Anything "controversial" in the way of public service announcements is not allowed. Controversial means some subsidized industry is either made to look bad or would lose profits if people acted on the ad. Remember how quickly the anti-smoking ads were pulled in CA when the tobacco companies complained that they were being portrayed negatively? (One had a scene where tobacco executives were meeting around a table lamenting the need to find more customers because they had so many dying of lung cancer.)

Don't forget the automobile manufacturers. While the food industry is producing junk food, people are not exercising enough even to the point of commuting without a car.

The tobacco industry wants people to smoke cigarettes
The food industry wants people to consume the junk food that is made
The automotive industry wants people to commute/travel by personal car, instead of commuting some other way.
