Mountain Biking - Cannondale sucks!!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I love when these threads come up... it is almost always some thirteen year old kid who just bought the $170 low of low model and tries to jump off some 9' tall thing and brakes something... Got to love the meaningless posts that seem to come in the winter as everyone is inside rather than riding.

Oh yea, and my C-dale will own you any day. Even without me on it. Even if it cracks in half.

I dont like cannondales because they have bad components and some funky designs.
yeah this bike looks really funky, and look at the bad componants http://cannondale.com/bikes/05/cusa/model-5VGDH.html

Ahh clarity (but not from clarica). Yes they do have a lot of proprietary components and funky designs. That is generally why I don't like them too.
aaaahhhhhh i cant look

I dont think their designs are too funky. Their componentry has been suspect in the past, I admit, but in order to make a hand-made in the US bike available to the masses, sometimes you gotta make some adjustments. I think they've made ammends though with the Gemini which is a killer DH bike and this year with the Prophet. Both are decently priced bikes that perform really well.

I was thinking early on with the lefty. But yes, they have improved greatly the last couple of years.

Yeah, we need some kid to pull a knife on someone who "insults" a bike brand that the kid has too much of their self-worth tied up in.
I hate some crackandfails because they keep on breaking and preventing my buddy from riding, or the breakages interupt our rides.
Thankfully, he got better bikes.
omg...id give one of my nuts fot a demo 8....i think if i got on one of those, id honestly have an erection....they are just so sweet... i'd give anything that wouldnt effect my riding for any demo 8...9... pro whatever. that would include both nuts.

ive got a gemini 900 and absolutely love it. hopefully next year i will be able to get a prophet as well.
They may have had some crazy ideas over the years that didn't work out too well, but that's how innovation in the mountain bike industry happens. You try lots of crappy ideas and refine them into good ones. Shimano is using a design for their cranks now that was actually from years ago! And it seems to work pretty well. If you've never owned a Cannondale how can you talk trash about them? I don't go around bashing on bikes I've never ridden...

I recently had a chance to ride my good friends Cannondale F800 with a Lefty and Magura's on it. That bike felt SOOO good. Super snappy, super lightweight, pedaled great, climbed great, stopped great. It felt like a road-bike on the dirt. The rear triangle didn't feel really flexy, and it's in that nice white & black tribal paintjob. MMMM... so tasty.

ME TOO. I live in blacksburg which is nestled between the appalaichain tral and brush mountain! If you dont like mountains DONT COME TO BLACKSBURG. Only downside is we have our own freakish wheather system in this nook and it will rain at the drop of a hat. BUT whats mtb if your not muddy?

Oh yah I live in Washington and I am still riding right now...
Came down the DH last sunday...wrecked three times in Five miles...Its a steep well traveled quading trail with jumps that give you six feet of air everytime you hit them. But becuase of the mud, and the fact that I was riding an old sherpa from the 1980's, everytime I landed the bike slipped out from under me and I landed on the trail.
I took a long shower when I got home...
Lol...winter riding rocks...Just don't use your CANNONDALE
THERE TO NICE
