Forum Suggestions & User Assistance - Site is acting strangely of late... Gremlins ?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Read my post count the other day and saw was 17,996 but seem to have had that dropped down to 17,922.

The New Posts feature seems to be dysfunctional.

Cannot access "My Profile" from the upper menu as it says I have not registered but this is accessible through the side menu.

Is there a ghost in the machine ?

PMs are out of whack too.
Your post count may have gone down because lots of old stuff was deleted from the market places board wide recently. They may have been lost in the spring cleaning.

I've passed a message up the line to IB.

We're on it.

Double-posts
New Posts not working
PM page 1 available only
Some users unable to view their profile
Last Page button not functioning

Anything else?

Working for me in IE, but in Chrome I cannot see threads other than the first page and when I click my profile I get this message (while logged in):

"This user has not registered and therefore does not have a profile to view."

Good to know it isn;t just me and am relieved that my post count has stayed under 18,000 as when it reaches this point the end of the world is nigh.

:)

Just FYI we are having trouble replicating some of these specific errors (for instance, in FF 8, I can use Last Page and New Posts just fine...), but if you can post your browser type and version when you report these it'd help.

Generally the site is behaving fine on our end, but we are seeing some database funkiness... so hopefully this won't end up being as hard to diagnose as it seems at first blush.

It's running clean for me now.

I have been using Safari 5.1.1

And if you didn't fix it, then the issue is transitory. It's running fine for me now.
