Anyone know off the top of their heads what the minimum OD for a pair of bar end shifters is? I have a pair of handlebars that are just a little to small, and I'm considering drilling them out to fit. I know I've seen it done, but google fails me.

How did you guess, classic suntours. I'd check myself, but they are currently buried in my handlebar, and I'm lazy.

23.8 I do believe. 22.2 is too small

That's outside diameter. He's asking for inside diameter. FWIW: I once turned down a set of Shimano bar-ends to fit in the end of an aluminum 22.2mm OD handlebar. Darned if I know what the ID was.

Minimum inside diameter of the handlebars, or outer diameter of the shifter itself. Either way, it looks like I'm going to have to disassemble my bike to measure it...

I'll post the answer here for future generations...

The shimano pod I've got kicking around is about 19.1 mm totally unexpanded.
