Road Cycling - Newbie Fork Question..the saga continues

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Well awesome....that answers that question. Thank you velocipedio, whoever you are ;-)!! Now..round 2! When the description includes length such as "123mm and 225mm with 40mm rake" what does the length refer to? Sorry for these newbie questions, but I'm trying to get this whole thing right before I go buy another fork.
Well, one of those numbers is the steerer length.
The rake refers to how much offset from the stter axis the axle will sit at. If you don't know nuthin about rake, please search the archives for my post that explains it all. Don't just guess, or you are likely to find out that the fork you got is wrong for your bike some day when you are going 40 mph!
