Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - help with mix and match!

so I almost finished my fixed gear and the only parts that are missing are brakes and front fork color.
for the brakes I don't know what to choose I would like something not to expensive (tight budget)
And for the fork I was going to paint it black matte(some cans that I still have.) but the I asked myself if the forks wasn't supposed to be the same color as the frame

One addition to your list should be foot retention though.

Tektro has some pretty decent dual pivot brake calipers that you should be fine with. Make sure to check whether your fork is drilled for a recessed brake or if it's the old style where the bolt goes all the way through to a washer and nut. You should get some foot retention too. Even though you're running a brake it's still much safer to have some foot straps as well. As for the fork... Personally, I'd do it the same color as the frame and then do some lug lining on the whole thing in an accent color.

For the foot retention I am going to fabricate them I don't think my lbs carry them for bmx pedals, the fork is all ready drilled for new gen brakes!

+1 on the V1.5 straps.DIY is good and all, but by the time you buy good enough materials you're almost at the cost of scrods straps.Cheap velcro and webbing from the local arts and crafts store just don't cut it.

just FYI you are going to need long-reach calipers for your brakes, especially that front.

thanks wearyourthuth ! but I already figured out that and bought the right calipers only thing missing is the levers and cables, went to a bike shop and the only levers with short end they had were purple and Sunday all bike shops are closed , so I will have to wait till monday

I recently found out that I have an LBS that is open on Sunday. I was like "woooooooooooord?" But yeah, go to them. They will be able to steer you not wrong in terms of levers. I'd go for some nice basic aero levers with black hoods if I were you.
