Blood pressure 117/70. Best reading ever. 15 months ago it was 210/130. Been off the BP meds for 5 months now, too. Doc said I'm the most dedicated person to losing weight he's seen in his entire 30 year career. Here's to a healthy and productive wintertime!

Fantastic! I'll find out tomorrow the results of my doc's "let's take him off the statins for 6 weeks" experiment.

Congrats :) and thanks for sharing that is very insperational
Great!! I can't seem to get control of my blood pressure. Today it was 144/55. Averages 145/68 or so. Gets pretty low in the summer when i ride more. Oh well. My Dr. wants to add Norvasc to my BP meds (Benicar). Norvasc is supposed to lower the systolic and not touch diastolic. We'll see.

I went to my cardiologist today for a exercise stress test. I'd been worried about skipped beats after hard rides but turns
out my heart is healthy and the doctor gave me the green light for biking. Yippeeee what a relief. Now just need to lose
100 pounds (I'm at 273) ... piece of cake lol.

I was close to that weight back on June 1 when the doctor put me on Tekturna BP medicine and made me take BP readings daily when I woke up. Put 1869 miles on the bike since July 1 and did a strict no sugar, low fats diet until mid October and am now around 200 (+/- 3 lbs). I kicked the tekturna on October 1 with BP readings of mid 120's over mid 70's. I've taken BP readings after rides and it's been as 'low' as 91/75.
For those that are interested all I ate was chicken, low fat red meats that I harvested (Venison, Alligator, Caribou, Antelope), salads, apples. On the salads I used Walden Farms dressings which is no fat, carbs, sugar, gluten. All I drank was water. I would use a HRM on my rides and only consume as many, or in most cases, fewer calories than what my HRM said I burned during the ride. All other calories I burned during the day were what I called "bonus weight being lost".
I keep an Excel spreadsheet to track my HRM output during rides. It says I've burnt 151543 calories during those 1869 miles
Congrats to Mithrandir (http://www.bikeforums.net/member.php/234288-Mithrandir) and all of the 'Clydes' that have lost weight. If I can lose ~65 lbs in 5 or so months anybody can. I'm a sugar addict

Thanks Ibohunt
Last May I weighed 352 and today I weighed 272 for 80 pounds off! All my life I've struggled with weight but this time its been easy
mainly I think because its a life style change to the type of diet you describe. You and Mithrandir and others on this forum are my heroes
and your stories have inspired me and given me hope that I can return to normal weight and get back into biking.
Thanks to all on this forum.
