Hello,

There isn't a good place for updates on cycling conditions. Furthermore, there seems to be be very few bike clubs in the area. I just wanted to give an update to anyone riding in the Baltimore area.

Places to avoid:
Gwynn falls bike trail near middle branch park roots are taking hold not safe for road bike

Hannover st bridge with the potholes obnoxious traffic expansion gaps and parallel gaps very hazardous to cycling

Places to go:

Jones fall trail up to Greenspring great climbs can be dense traffic

There are clubs in the area. You just need to know where to look. Try USA Cycling:

I just rode it and didn't notice anything that wasn't negotiable on a road bike. I used it to ride from Fells Point to BWI airport.

Use Potee St instead. It parallels Hanover. It leads to Belle Grove which has a trail on it as well.

Figured out the Gwynn Falls trail I was a bit confused when I had to go down a side street the section by the hospital is a killer. The bridge I am talking about is the Hannover street bridge over the harbor I still get the shakes thinking about it.
