Since I hate turkey, I ate some Genoa salami I bought at a cheese shop at Polk and Pacific in SF yesterday, as well as the rest of the candy corn I bought there. I still have plenty of the 65% less fat salt & vinegar chips I bought there. That's the extent of my pigging out for today.
I also despise turkey but since Im a Brit surrounded by Yanks on this day, I've got no choice. Gimme a 'cheese n onion' pie anyday.
------------------------------------------
1. Started the day with Waffles/Syrup :)
P.S - I don't feel guilty in the slightest. I ride 4-5 days a week so I can enjoy today. AND I will probably ride this PM - probably ;)

Got a duck ready to go in the oven, red cabbage, pie a la mode, turkey? dont think so, watching GB on TV while working out on my elliptical, bike will be put away this weekend, got 4 inches of snow out there... Oh yeah almost forgot, we got Beaujolais nouveau, Martinis, Vodka, and more Martinis... no driving today!
A bowl of oatmeal with blueberries, cinammon and sliced almonds, JUST a touch of sugar. Not sure about lunch, but dinner will be at a friends and completely non-traditional (rice noodle soup and chicken curry and other stuffz). However, my son and his wife will be home this weekend and we'll feast Saturday.
For dinner with friends, we had the noodled soup, and curry with a choice of chicken, beef or tofu. It was interesting and fun to do something different. Of course followed by some rasberry muffins, pecan and pumpkin pies.
Due to being on meds, I passed on some whickey/scotch tasting. Darnit...

Brunch (way too late for breakfast, too early for lunch, but everyone else was just waking up when I got back from the gym)
- everything bagel with goat cheese
- 2 scrambled eggs with pastrami and onions, topped with hot sauce
- fresh grapefruit juice
We're having seafood for dinner since my bro-in-law is here from way far inland, and doesn't get awesome fresh seafood like we do here on the coast. That's been our Thanksgiving routine for the past 5 years. Way better than packing ourselves with potatoes and stuffing and falling into a coma.

This year spouse and I are together without family. I miss them. :(
I made chicken soup this morning, dumping a whole rotisserie chicken in a pot and cooking it nice and long. Cooled things down and picked out the bones and skin. Then added celery, onion, and carrot and cooked some more in the stock. Added some wild rice. Put the meat back in. Made dill dumplings.
I am full.
I also made apple crisp from apples from our trees up north. I had just a taste, maybe more later.

Dirty turkey day trick:
Gina- can you smell the turkey from there?
Beanz- not really (gets up walks to oven, leans over to stove, places nose close to oven then takes a big whiff)
Gina- (opens oven as Beanz does big inhale face close to oven)
Beanz- D'oh!!! Beanz walks away with cinged eyebrows and a very sad face.:(

Gina laughing after reading my post cause she knows she burned me good.

Started the day with a blueberry bagel with cream cheese (a man's got to pace himself). Just finished with a lunch of salami, cheese, crackers, onion dip, salsa and chips with a nice chardonnay.
Turkey just went into the oven. My awesome wife made my mom's special raspberry jello salad (a family tradition for as long as I can remember) and everthing else is underway.
Both sons are home from college (haven't seen them since August) and we have the game on the big screen. Life is way more than good. Looking forward to a great weekend with family and even happy I'll be returning to work next Thursday.

That looks great! I am just like you, I have to have a few rolls. I usually eat them last to wipe up the gravy or make a mini-sandwich with whatever is on the plate.
Also, happy thanksgiving!

Great meal, it was. I don't know if I canceled my trainer session with the food, or the trainer session made up for what I ate, but whatever, it were good. My wife is not in town this weekend, so I had to try to make our Colonial Sweetpotato recipe (sweet taters, apples, rum, molasses, and other good stuff) to take to dinner. Besides that, had the standard fare with good friends and all out kids, and managed to hold it to one plate full. Though it was a large plate.
Back on the trainer tomorrow - a forgiveness workout for sure!

I ate a full turkey dinner followed by two pieces of cheesecakes and a handful of Dove chocs. This AM its time to hit the CycleOps for an hour in prep for the too many
leftovers' banging on the refrigerator door ;)

Same here. I had company over and we baked one turkey and smoked the other. I am about to hit the fridge and have a smoked turkey leg.

Just the standard turkey, mashed potatoes, cornbread stuffing, gravy, green beans, and pumpkin pie for dessert. Got in a ride this morning and definitely felt a little sluggish but wth, it is only once a year (twice if you count Christmas).
Dinner #2 from Thanksgiving.
Dinner #1 was traditional Turkey dinner so no picture.

Breakfast was homade (yes: homade!) cimmanum (yes: cimmanum!) rolls. Then a 35-miler. Then home for dinner: smashed taters, dressing (we don't do "stuffing," and in any case, we only had a breast and not a whole turkey), gravy, homade (yes: homade!) rolls.

Lots of turkey with real Idaho mashed potatoes, homemade gravy, ham, stuffing, corn, sweet potatoes(you know, with marshmallows!) homemade rolls with lots of butter, homemade cranberry jam, and homemade pumpkin pies.
Man it was awesome.
