1. rockshox SID team '04, 80mm travel - $399 (plus $70 more for remote lockout option)
2. marzocchi marathon SL '03, 105mm travel - $379
strictly cross country, small rider about 150 lbs...
any opinions?

In which case the SID would be best. 105 mm of travel would make the bike feel sloppy when cornering. 80mm was a lot of travel for an XC rig then.

Agreed, if strickly XC, then stick with less travel.
