aerospoke question
Hey guys, I just picked up a aerospoke from a friend, and I when I got home I realized its slightly off trued. Not sure what I should do? Can I still use it? the bearings are still smooth and spins nicely. But I noticed at the brake area, there's a slight uneveness when you spin it . Can this be trued? btw its the 5spoke one, the famous one for track.

By the way, the reason it can't be trued is because it's a $20 plastic shell popped into a $50 mavic rim.
Aerospokes suck -.-

Is there some odd belief that saddle angle is to match stem or bar or something? Why do all these tark bikes floating around have such stupid saddle angles?

Some saddles are designed like that, I have a selle Italia Flite that has a steep angle to it and it is very comfortable when your in a Aero position

No saddle is designed to be that steep.
I'd just put the wheel on a flat surface and whack at the high spots with a mallet.

Jakarta/Indonesia/Malaysia is just behind all of us, it's reliving 2005~2006 again in the States, except the "Steal is Real". They are just spending a ton more money, than the kids that at the time that were getting off on ill-fitting NJS, on Carbon and Aluminum. I feel sorry for their wrists. It's inevitable when people spend money only for internet pictures and the riding part comes second.

Someone needs to do a little research. The rim is a Velocity Fusion and the carbon composite spokes aren't just "popped" onto anything.
Aerospokes don't suck, they're just heavy and not very practical - unless you're riding at maximum speed everywhere you go. I really liked mine and would rather have another Aerospoke than a Spinergy any day.
This thread doesn't need to turn into some sort of pro/anti Aerospoke debate. The OP was just asking if his could be trued, which unfortunately it cannot.

Hell yeah, that's why I liked mine!

Isn't it nice though to have a wheel that doesn't go untrue/lose tension after every single time you hit a bump or pothole? Or are they not really that tough?
Scrodzilla

They are that tough - but if your wheels are becoming untrue that often, they weren't built right.

Its not quite that they're untrue, just notice that my spokes loosen up a bit every now and then. Never happens at home, just here at school where the roads and side walks and such are super ****ty. Riding at night is almost impossible without knowing the area really well.

spokes loosening up means it's a bad build and results in a wheel out of true, among other things. If your roads are that bad then it would a good idea to go for a bike like the Kilo WT

Aerospoke has really good customer service and will probably work with you if you lie and say you bought it new (lol)

I thought of that a while like back, but i like the thinner tires. I've thought about a veep too, what with some people saying that they tend to be stronger, and other people saying they aren't.

Great "advice". Taking advantage of a company who is known for offering good customer service is ****ty.

they offer replacement for 1/2 the cost of new which I think is fair for both parties

it's funny, since I have been riding with 35mm tires I learned that I can roll over most of the crappy roads here without problems and then I ride my other bike with narrow tires and I forget I have to steer around everything.
Since Mavic IO and Spinergy where also mentioned, how about the Corima 3 spoke? Are they as good as those wheels?
Deep Vs are amazing, but there is this cat that rides his chopper with no spoke - cant wait for mavic to pop these babies out
