Training & Nutrition - MTB vs. Road biking

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hi...
I read an article in our local magazine about the advantages and disadvantages of MTB-ing...
I use to MTB-ing during my weekend and daily road bike to my workplace...
the advantages is MTB-ing can burn about 700 calories/hrs
and the disadvantages is can cause impotency in the case of dead d*ck syndrome...
how about road biking?
Dead d*ck syndrom is nonsense. In controlled environment tests mountain bikers consistently have more efficient pedal strokes then roadies. But other than that, roadie or off-road is personal preference.

Well... on my two-hour road ride today [2:10:53, to be exact] I burned, according to the calorie counter in my HRM [probably fairly acurate given that I input my weight], 1,736 calories. That works out to about 803 calories per hour.

"Vs"?
There is no "vs".
It's Mtb & Road bike.
And, it's all good.
