I am a left BK. I get around alright. My only problem is how much my stump sweats. When I am very active I sweat a lot. When I sweat a lot my liner starts to slip. Right now I am wearing a vacuum system. I have had the same results with the pin system. I want to try a mini triathlon this June but am worried about the running part and the sweating. I have gone as far having my Dr. write me a Rx for prescription strength anit-perspirent that I use on my stump and that seems to work if I use it everyday, the problem is I don't like using it everyday due to how hard it is on my skin.
I guess my question is what if anything are you other amputees using to prevent excessive sweating on your residual limb? When i take my liner off i can actually dump the sweat out there is that much in there. (I have heard that eventually you will stop sweating but my amputation was 2008 and I haven't yet) Any help will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance.
