What´s the best stuff to get grips to stick to the bars ?
I´ve read of various ways including hairspray, matt paint, WD40 even---- What is the best way ? :-) :innocent:
One of mine is slipping bad, the right is rock solid but left slips.
My practice on motorcycles and mtbs has been to ensure the bars and grips were scrupulously clean. Then they'd stick well on their own. I'd lube with isopropyl alcohol to install if needed. It may take a while for it to evaporate out of the confined space though.

I usually use 99% Isopropyl myself. Clean the bars really well beforehand, with some acetone if they've got something greasy on them.
Use a spray bottle and give it a quick spray, especially with closed end grips so that not so much gets in the closed end, most of it will be concentrated at the open end. Give the bar a light mist also.
Maybe one out of 50 grips won't stick. Just the other day I installed an Oury that refuses to stick. Unfortunately single at the moment, I'm gonna have to start calling some female friends in order to get some hairspray.
Before switching to locking grips I used hair spray. Aqua net worked for me. Just happened to be what the wife had at the time.

If using hairspray or glue, allow 24 hours to dry.

WD40 makes grips easy to get off, but they generally will not stick for a long time after WD40 has been applied due to the oils. I find that installing the grip when both the grip and bar are covered in soapy water generally works well. Takes a day or more to dry though.
