Hi there, new here and looking for some info on a bike I have acquired.
While going through the abandoned property at a friend's tow yard, I came across a Gary Fisher Capitola, in very good shape.
I know very little about these bikes, except that it's considered a Hybrid, and Gary Fisher now works for another company.
From the looks of the frame, it's a Girl's Bike (I was surprised to see they still made that differentiation in the PC world), and there is a (15") sticker on the frame, though online all the references I have found for Capitolas are either 14.5", or 16.5".

All Shimano Hardware works, though the rear brake may need adjustment. No grips on the bars either.
I would like to know how to determine it's model year, and if it is actually as good of a bike as it looks.
Thanks for any input,

It looks like a 2003 from the paint, but you're right they didn't list a 15 inch in 2003. They didn't list the sizes in inches in 2002 so maybe it's a left over 2002 frame built in 2003. Just a guess. Trek bought Gary Fisher, but not sure when.

Thanks for the links. The paint job sure matches the middle link, which I am assuming is the 2003, as it lists sizes in inches.
The bike is labeled "Silver Series" which also matches that link.

I see the appropriate non gender term os step through, not Girls'.
Thanks for the help.

Gary Fisher brand is a pretty decent bike, along the lines of Trek. It is not a WalMart special, that's for sure. Probably retailed for about $350+ is what I'm thinking.
