Ok, so I order shoes for my wife online for her b-day.
2 packages come in the mail, both with the same tracking number.
I'm like wtf... so I open both. Confirmed, they are the same shoes in both boxes.
I double check how much they charged me (in case I made a double order), but no double order, I paid for 1 pair.
Um... what do I do now? Call them? Strange... :twitchy:
Call them and ask them to issue a call tag for the second pair.
Send one pair back and get a refund!
It's an ethical tarp.

if they are a big box seller, I would just hold on to them.
if they are a small business, I'd ask them if they want it back.

Like you did with the extra pizzas?
If it was your store and your employee messed up and sent two pair, what would you want the recipient to do?

Actually when he handed me the three pizzas I did mention I only ordered one. He said they knew that but since they didnt get it right they were giving me all three attempts at it.

We ordered a dog crate from Petco and got two delivered a few days apart. Same deal, no double-charge, just a double-ship. We took the extra one back to the store and they looked at us like we had lobsters coming out of our ears. Oh well. We didn't have room for another one and I didn't want to mess with selling it if they were going to come back for it. So we left it with them.

I bought some wood trim for my kitchen project the other night. I told the cashier I had four, and that's what she rang me up for. I got to the car and had five in the cart. I took the one back and told them, and they really didn't care. Whatever. My conscience is clean.

'you' grabbed 5 instead of 4 and you were able to walk in the store and return, 'they' grabbed 2 instead of 1 and mailed both to me, now I've gotta repackage the box, print out a label, and find a drop box. Isn't that an apples to oranges comparison? My conscience isn't bothered by my situation I guess :-( But alas, I'm still going to return it. And yep, it's a big store, not a small business.

If it were me, regardless of the size of the store, I'd call them and ask them if they want the duplicate pair back. I'd also ask them to pay for the return shipping.

Yeah, I certainly wouldn't pay to send it back. And I agree with your point; I realized I had the extra one while I was still in the parking lot. I wondered whether I would have bothered to return it if I had gotten home before finding it.

My GF's parents ordered 1 big screen tv, and got 2 when they delivered it. They finally did straighten things out, but the delivery guys were ready to take it off theirs hands for them without asking any questions....

Just because you did the right thing doesn't mean we can't give you grief about it....:innocent:

Its the interwebs, I would expect no less! Of course, if this is the case, the mods should move this to the 41. ;)
Now.... Lead on, McDuff.
And damned be he who first cries "Hold! Enough!"

Several years ago, a high-end furniture store delivered several sets of Venetian blinds while we were not home. I called them three times, every time they said the would pick them up, but never did. I finally used them on my windows.
