Why do you hate it? I thought it looked like a good stand alone map system,at least it does on paper.

I'm looking at buying a Vista hcx because it has a data card port.I like it because it takes AA batts. I was going to mount it on my stem also,I'm interested in this myself, thanks.

Booger 1 if your tech minded (i'm not) its ok but theres much better sat nav units thats much much easer to use .the screen is to small its very hard to down load routes onto it maybe i bough a dud but honestly i find it very hard to operate , now in its defense i'm totally stupid when it comes to downloading routes lol but theres way to much info on this unit if you go into the menu its mind boggling honest ,ah just give me something simple garmin you guys are far to tech minded for a simple guy like me.
the nuvi i have for the car is simple put in your destination and hey presto it will take me there no problem .

I do not recall who makes a threadless stem cap that includes a handlebar type mount above the cap, but I have seen photos of it. Anyone familiar with it?

Maybe try searching on Amazon and see what you find. Like this one maybe. (http://www.amazon.com/Arkon-GPS032-Handlebar-Mount-3-5/dp/B003FMUP0K/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1322926611&sr=8-1) From the picture it looks like the mount pivots. Says it fits up to a 33mm diameter bar.

Yeah, that is the one that I was thinking of. Thanks.

If I wanted to put a GPS on the stem instead of handlebar, that is how I would do it.

Now that looks like a really handy add on. Would work nicely on my bent for a proximity light. That and a headlamp is what I use for night riding. Bookmarked.

Paul makes high quality stuff. Buddy has their brakes on his LHT.
