I changed internet providers and got great deal by upgrading old 10mbps to wooping 40mbps for the same price....but, DNS is acting up and about 30% of the time gives me a "server not found" error.

I thought it was the provider's servers acting up so I changed to google's public DNS servers (the 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4) but it does the exact same thing.

Is quite strage... refresh a page in foo and it works, open a post 2 seconds later and "cant find bikeforums...yada yada", refresh 2 seconds later and it works.

Any ideas?

Are you getting any packet loss? DNS is usually UDP so if you are getting packet loss the reply may never be heard. i.e. if you do:

ping google.com -t

and then ctrl+break after like 20 what percent of packets are lost?

I had forgotten about those, silly me. There seemed to be a packet loss of 6%. I flushed dns and now have 0% packet loss. I'll browse a bit to see of problem continues or goes away.
