I have long enjoyed Calvin Trillin's writing. I especially like his writing about Kansas City food. I've read many of his magazine articles and a couple of his books. I just finished reading Tepper Isn't Going Out, about a man in New York City who parks in legal parking spots and reads the paper. The novel is wonderfully engaging. I'm curious if any NYC residents have read it.
Edit: Well, I thought italics would work in the subject line. Guess I was wrong.

Hey, I read that book! Liked it a lot. I'm not in NYC, but I am in New England.
I once had Calvin Trillin visit my modest home....I knew better than to try to feed him (maybe a cup of coffee)....He was very dry humored & courtly, just like his writing....He was interviewing me for an article on Penn & Teller....I knew Penn when he was very young (I guess he still is....)
