... and are looking for some sweet platforms then I would highly suggest the Syncros Mentals. Just put a set on my bike and they have as much grip as shinburgers but are lighter, they look sweet and are strong as hell.
From personal expieriance I can tell ya they can take a hit too ;)

If they hit ya in the shin it will do some damage. Not as bad as the shinburgers though. The Mentals are more likely to puncture rather then tear your shin like the SB. I am not to sure on retail 'cause I got a deal but they were pricy even with the deal I got.

ouch... those look like they could do some damange if they whack your shins. imagine going to the ER with a pedal embedded in your shin.

those are some sweet pedals... but man if you ever caught one in the shin... i caught my 14 peg pedal ( or more truthfully, it caught me) and my shin was throughly ripped up, and mine arnt as vicous as those...

I think some people need to see a picture of the shin burgers so they understand the comparison. I can see how the syncros would be lighter.
