Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - [Q] The most excellent road drops? [:

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

What, in your opinion, would be the most excellent road drops to use on an aggressive track frame used for street? Yes, contradicting, but everyone has their negatives and my stubbornness in wanting an aggressive track frame is one of mine. c:
I actually like the look of some road bars, but I'm currently using nitto B123s. I'd like to switch to a 31.8 clamp road bar sometime in the future and was wondering what are some good ones. :D Carbon is cool, but I'm not sure if it's a great idea for me because I'm afraid of crashing once and having my bars explode. Is that a viable fear?
Also, I like to pop wheelies and do random things despite using track drops, so... bars that'll just explode aren't for me, despite me finding them cool. :c
Thank you for your assistance in advance! ^~^

I would also like to say that Massan's road drops in this picture look cool. (: I don't know how to figure out what they are, though.
Yeah I like those bars but I am also clueless as to what they are.
Anyone have a clue?

Google search track cycling and notice the large number of road handle bars.
If your bike has a lot of saddle-bar drop then consider compact drop bars like the FSA Omega. Other bars with deeper reach are well suited for bikes with less saddle-bar drop. It's hard to suggest "excellent" bars when we all have different taste. I, for one, think the bar in the photo is ugly and not as comfortable as a round bar.
I think the bar in the link may be a Ritchey Logic, but any guess is as good as mine

My next frame might have a large saddle:handlebar drop, but I just don't personally like the look of the FSA Omega, though I'm sure they're wonderful bars. I like the concept of round bars, but generally I haven't been able to find nice looking ones... Which ones do you suggest?
Also, why do you believe round bars to be more comfortable? O: Is it just having more hand positions or is there more to it?

They just feel better in my hands. Pretty much anybody that makes road bars makes classic round bars in some form, I currently have a Nitto Noodle on one bike (my bikes linked in my sig.) and it is very comfy but doesnt come in 31.8.
3t Rotundo is pretty popular in the Road Cycling forum

Waa. O: The 3T Rotundo actually looks really cool, thanks for the suggestion. :D The noodle is also pretty cool, and helps with my Nitto brand loyalty, but I've become pretty set on the 31.8 clamp idea. Perhaps for no reason, but I'm a bit like that. ^^;; Thanks for the suggestions so far.

Deda Newtons have a similar bend to the bars on Massan's bike but with a 31.8 clamp area.

I do like it when people attempt to "call me out" and end up looking like fools. We're even.

Massan's handlebar reminds me of the one I use, the Deda Big Piega.

**** Dave, man.
From what I remember, I can't tell if you're joking or not.
asking for the most excellent road drops is like asking for the most excellent saddle.
having said that i prefer anything with a classic bend and without too much drop or reach. ritchey, 3t, deda, fsa (i think?) and others make bars that fit the bill.

Love the Ritchey WCS Evo-Curve handlebars, looks good brakeless and has a fatter top section and still pretty light for being alum.

I like these a whole lot. They don't come in huge-o clamp sizes, though (vintage). Doesn't matter, really. Clamp sizes only change so people buy more stuff than they need.

I love my Nitto Noodles with Tektro R100s. So comfy (I do want to try SRAM S900s though).
Next on my "to-try" list are 3T Rotundos and/or FSA Compacts, though. If only they came in silver...
Ergonova's ftw
