Don't know if anyone else has seen this video about a cool folding eBike from VW:

Looks wonderful, but then most concept designs are fun to look at.
that's not a bike. that's more like a scooter. there are no pedals, etc. if the batteries run out, you're SOL.
i build electric bikes and i'm working on a dahon conversion...i'll write about it when it's done. but it's going to be a real e-bike...like the kind you can pedal if you want to or use the motor 100% if you don't feel like pedaling or anywhere in between.

It's also a repost.

I'll admit, that is a cool little bike.
But if it's anything like Volkswagens of the past, it will suffer from electrical failure due to water intrusion, poorly designed connectors and wire flexing.
In other words, they better put pedals on it.

Very clever fold making it fit in the spare wheel well like that. Not something you could do with pedals and cranks - at least with that geometry, so I guess it had to be electric. Good for them - it's a solid looking thing (not that unlike the Gobike) that is less 'concept' and more 'real' than a lot you see.

City of London's Congestion taxes on cars spawns solutions
for those well off individuals, who will buy the gadget,
rather than pay the tax.
