As long as we're opening up about mental illness, why not!

Hernia - 1968

ACL - right knee - 2000

Colonoscopy - one polyp removed - 2011

I had a tonsilectomy when I was 18 months old. Apparently, they diidn't get all of the tissue.
Did you know, tonsils can grow back? Neither did I till the dentist told me I have them.

Tonsils and a Hernia when I was a kid.

In 2000 I had a transsphenoidal macro-adenomectomy.

Tonsils out as a young kid. Laser surgery in both eyes as a teen to try and control the glaucoma induced intra-occular pressure. Those didn't work so went under the knife on the right eye after turning 18- my mom wouldn't have handled the guilt if something went wrong if she had signed off on the procedure.

The pressure came down, but it fried the vision big time. Doc wanted to do the left eye, and I told him not a chance.

And do tooth extractions count? I had 11 removed at one time prior to getting braces. I remember eating saltine crackers and cheese while watching 'The Cosby Show' that night...

2010 4 wisdom teeth extracted
2011 Saphenous vein cauterized right leg
future: 2012 Saphenous vein cauterized left leg

'93 appendix removed.
'04 Rotators cuff
'07 Radio-carpal

then in 2010 I underwent a procedure to remove a clump of grit from behind my right eye, although wasn't technically surgery it seemed like it.

Can't remember the name but there was the GREAT BACK SURGERY of 2009 which kept in bed for months (no pain thanks to vicodin'). That was to resolve a herniated disk in the lower back.

As a kid I had something removed from my throuth, no idea how it translate but in spanish is called "admindalas".

I've had multiple Basil Cell Carcinoma's removed over the years and a hemi-collectomy of my ascending colon two years ago. Unfortunately, few people have had more procedures than my daughter who is currently at 35 surgeries, the result of a Giant AVM discovered when she was 18 and subsequent brain hemorrhage. :-(

Jaw reconstruction: upper and lower jaw, chin. 8 and a half hours out, 6 weeks on liquid diet.

Nose: deviated septum, the source of a many sinus infections growing up in allergy centeral (N. Texas)

Malignant Melanoma at 18, and probably at least 12-18 subsequent mole removals since. I've lost count and don't care to try to add them up at the moment.

I had a small chunk of precancerous skin taken out of my right ear. Beyond that just wisdom teeth. That is unless you count stitches...of which I have had plenty.

tonsillectomy - when I was in early grade school

lower back surgery - herniated disc - back in 6th grade (we never figured out what caused it) Surgeon said he's only seen myself and one other young individual with a similar problem. What can I say, I'm a rare breed.

One of my friends rode off the side of Mt Evans and just had spinal surgery yesterday. She will own all in the surgery department.

Multiple pin/plate replacement surgeries to my left hip until I quit growing. Bones never fused properly so they're held together with metal bits.

Repairs to a few abdominal organs after horrible bike wreck involving landing Superman style on a BMX pedal.

A couple little in-office skin biopsies requiring a few stitches to close up. Nothing majour, no problems found.

Oct 2010, lateral internal sphincterotomy. I broke my butthole last year during the 400k on my Super-Randonneur attempt.

Mid September I think. Me and a couple friends rode up from Idaho Springs and met another friend with her boyfriend. We took off and almost made it to the top but were stopped by a foot of snow on the upper switchbacks. After descending through terrible high winds we encountered paramedics taking her up from the boulders below the road. Flight for life landed a helicopter on the road and took her to a hospital in Denver. It was quite depressing and surreal. The winds switched to a tailwind at that location and we think it basically forced her up to a speed where she was unable to corner and flew off the road. She is a relatively new rider as well. Us experienced riders where riding our brakes to keep us under control with the ferocious winds.
She has a long recovery ahead of her.

Sorry about your friend, DJ. She's on a long recovery road now. I hope it goes smoothly.

My surgery count is up to 6 so far. I've had stuff removed and stuff put in and stuff repaired. Nothing terribly exciting.

Mine went south about that age. Do you have any Native American heritage? The Creek side of my family is rife with dodgy gallbladders.

She is in recovery. Hopefully, she regains the use of her left arm. It has slowly been going numb. Several vertebrae were crushed among many broken ribs and quite a few other injuries. I am on the fence about ever riding Mt Evans again. I had wanted to race the Bob Cook.

I've only done the full Mt. Evans ride once but I do remember riding the brakes for a looong time going back down. It's not hard to get out of your (mine anyway) comfort zone speedwise in a hurry there.

I had my personality removed because it was decaying and an artificial one made of frogs and snails and puppy dog tales installed. A couple of side effects that are interesting. I have chronic dog-breath, poisonous skin and leave a slimy trail wherever I go.

Had my gall bladder removed.

Arthroscopic knee surgery around 1988 to repair a torn meniscus, which turned out to be not torn
Partial discectomy L5-L6 around 1990, which alleviated the pain but I still can't feel the toes in one foot
Vasectomy around 1992, which I prefer to not think about

More to come soon, I'm afraid

The lengths some people will go to lighten their ride! Hopefully the new ones are Ti, CF, or unobtanium. Double bonus if it's a rotational weight reduction.

Got rid of the tonsils at 6 and got the vasectomy done after my soon to be 12 year old daughter was born... have had my share of stitches but have only broken my collarbone and have lots of hairline fractures in my feet from years of kicking a heavy bag as well as a number of deserving individuals and other fixed objects.

Also had a small cyst removed from my scalp a few years ago... it was one of the first dates my wife and I went on as I went in for the exam and they removed it on the spot.

I know how to show a girl a good time.
