The rub could be a little more refined, but it'll do.
Too bad you can't share smell on the interwebz.

Looks good! What rub did you use? Also, did you brine that or start with a plain brisket? I ask, because it looks more like a Pastrami.

No brine, just a plain brisket. It was a spur of the moment thing. I was walk through Costco and saw a brisket, and said why not. By the time I got home, I just grabed a mccormick steak rub that was in the spice cabinet. Not bad but kind of peppery, and since all of it stuck to the meat in the smoker, it's just a bit more than I would like. The smoke ring is smaller in the center part of the meat. Still taste pretty good. I think this will take more thought than chicken or ribs.
