Pouring down rain this morning so today is a good day to make sawdust in the wood shop.

Rain doesn't bother me in the slightest, but my bicycle doesn't like to get wet ;)

Mud-guards/fenders and Goretex means the sawdust can wait. :)

No fenders, mud guards or Goretex, it just doesn't rain here enough to justify the outlay or time and trouble. I have ridden in the rain plenty in years past, Just don't care to do it today.

I wasn't paying attention to your location. Guess fenders and Goretex wouldn't be much of a priority there. How often do you get rain of any measurable amount?

I hear you. went to high school in the Seattle area and the thought there was you went out in the rain or you didn't go out much. Here the thought is, we can go out tomorrow. I asked a friend of mine who lives in the LA area what he uses for rain gear and he said, a cell phone.:D

I'm at work trying to get my socks dry for the ride home, having decided not to let the rain derail my plans, which were for the long route to work today. I need to find some covers big enough for my size 50 shoes!

3 things affect riding-Wind-Rain and cold. Take any single one of those and I can cope. Two together and I'll find something else to do.
But rain and this time of year can cause a problem. There will be some wind and the rain will be cold so Layer up and make certain the top layer is a breathable waterproof. The tights will go on as cold rain hitting the legs stings. Hands and feet are covered with waterproof SealSkinz socks and gloves and the ski mask will be used-----Hooray found it at long last.
Just a pity I feel like the Michelin man and dragging that extra clothing up the hills and getting hot inside all those layers means that distance is cut but the workout is just as good.
Only time I definitely won't ride on the road is if the weather is extreme- but a good snow covering up on the hills on the MTB is fun.

I've let the recent cooler, wetter weather in Texas keep me off the road lately because I'm trying to get my kitchen tile finished and my house cleaned up for the holidays.

At this point, I just have some trim pieces to install to finish the job.
For far too long, I've been using my cycling as an excuse to keep from finishing the job. Now I'm using the weather as an excuse to stay in and finish it.
