AG2R Mondiale was the #3 team in this year's TDF, Behind Garmin/Cervelo and Leopard/Trek. I am new to watching the grand tours, and I am totally hooked after watching this year's Tour De Suisse, Tour De France, and Tour of Spain (Vuelta).
It seemed to me that AG2R did not do well in this year's TDF, with most of their riders toward or at the back of the pack most of the time.
I understand that Peraud, DuPont and Roche did well, individually (#'s 10, 22, and 26, respectively), but they had no stage winners, nor K.O.M., best young rider nor most aggressive rider winners.
I'm really glad they did well, but can someone shed some light on this? I realize the points system has to be understood, and that it changes, year-to-year.
