I'm a 43 year old woman living in Northeast Ohio. I commute to work on my bike 40 miles round trip year round.
I may seem like a mild mannered Mom, but tell me to stay off the road when I am on my bike and you will hear some @#%$^!
There is no better time than now to start riding a bike where ever you can. Sure, the infrastructure could be better and drivers could be more polite and Europe will always do it better; but it's all worth it to be a part of a revolution.
Biking can and will change the way we live, and the world is going to be a whole lot better place because of it : )
