Hi

I have been a bit of a fan of Rock N Roll Gold (http://www.rocklube.com/) lubricant for road riding but I am not convinced of its suitability for touring longer distances on dry dirt roads and hence I am interested in what others use in similar touring conditions.

I am debating switching over to Rock N Roll Extreme (http://www.rocklube.com/) for these conditions or maybe using Purple Extreme (http://www.purpleextreme.com/) which seems popular with mountain bikers.

Thoughts?

Thanks
Andrew

I use Dupont Chain saver with teflon for all my chains. Get it at Lowes (or online) for half the price of any other bicycle specific lube. 4 oz for $4 or so.

I haven't used anything else but White Lightning since about 1997. Works well, is clean, doesn't attract dirt, and doesn't need application nearly as much as people think. I do clean my chain in mineral spirits (might be called 'white spirits' in your part of the world) before I install it and then I never have to clean it again.
