just got a 2012 Tricross sport (which has a triple), i was just wondering if you guys all have indents behind/ below the front derailleur on your seat tubes? it looks like it's there for clearance when the chain is on the small ring. i don't have my camera with me and i can't find pictures of it online.

My Base-model triple does NOT have these indentations. Smooth as silk. Pictures would be best.

Are you asking about the indents on the chainstays? The chainstays run between the axle and the bottom bracket shell. Indent are typical on CX bike to improve tire clearance.

no. i'm asking about the seat tube. there is an indent below the front derailleur and above the bottom bracket on the drive side. i almost didn't see it because it's hidden by the derailleur and chainrings.

perfectly normal. i went to work today and i checked on all of our 2012 Allez and Secteur models, and they also had them. the seat tubes on the 2012s start circular at the top, and flow to square with rounded edges toward the bottom, and this indent was required for derailleur clearance.
