I just found out I got a promotion I was gunning for since my return back to work. All it took was a near death experience to make it happen.

On a serious note, this promotion entails very limited travel. No more spending 5-7 days a week in a strange hotel in a strange town. No more hoping to catch a flight only to see it's been canceled/delayed. I will miss all the first class upgrades and free booze though. And the hotel points. I haven't paid for a flight or hotel out-of-pocket in several years. Well worth the loss though.
