For anyone who's been afraid of dogs on their bike:
According to the BBC (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/4087415.stm) , a woman attacked and strangled to death a 130 lbs rottweiler after it had gone after her terrier. Maybe them dogs ain't so tough and scary afterall, eh?
There used to be lots of postings about mean dogs, and the postings tended toward irrational fear. Thought this was an interesting twist.

A few words....
If you are in a dog fight expect to get bit
If you are in a knife fight expect to get cut
If you are in a gun fight expect to get shot
etc.

This applies to humans as well.

Some dogs are just bullies. And like human bullies, if you get a good shot they will go away. Others however will give their all to hurt, maim, or kill you. You better hope you don't ever get in a fight with one of these kinds, either human or canine.
Maybe that woman is 130 pounds of pure muscle with 2% body fat. We used to have a robotic arm that weighed about 150 pounds in the lab that was capable of bending steel rebar into a pretzel (no we did not call it 'Bender').
A simple blood test will show that the woman is actually a robot.

I hope they persue the charges against the woman for crulity to animals, the state should prolly remove her kids from her care becuse they might be play fighting and she might kill one of them thinking it was self defense.

If the rotweiller had really gone for her she wouldn't have any arms left.

More detailed info there. How could the woman have done all this with the owner holding the dog's collar? I completely understand how the woman felt. After dozens of encounters with dog owners, I'm a bit skeptical about the statement that the dog only wanted to play. I'm wondering why the owner wasn't immediately taking the dog back home. It should not have been out in the first place. We get bitten at work all the time by dogs that the owner thinks won't bite, and one woman here in San Jose is having reconstructive facial surgery because of a dog attack.
