Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Mapei's Paolo Bettini has just won the 258 km Liege-bastogne-Liege, the oldest of the spring classics. His teammate Stefano Garzelli took second after pulling for the last couple of kms and then letting his team leader take the win. Fassa Bortolo's Ivan Basso came in third.

Garzelli and Bettini broke away with 6 km to go and kept the lead, despite a determined chase by Basso.

Finishing behind are

4. Mirko Celestino (Saeco)
5. Massimo Codol (Lampre-Daikin)
6. Matthias Kessler (Telekom)

Peter van Petegem of Lotto got the highest Belgian finish in 7th.

That's the latest from the Velocipedio Bici-WielerNieuws Service.
