Forum Suggestions & User Assistance - Don't want subscription

Every time I create a thread or post a reply on an already existing one, the "Subscribe to this thread and notify me of changes" box is ticked by default. In most cases I don't want to subscribe, but I often forget to disable the option. As a result, my mail box is flooded with messages that I didn't intend to request.
Could you please change the settings so that the "Subscribe to this thread" option is unchecked by default?

click on settings, go down on the left side and you should see subscription settings then set it to whatever you want, then hit settings again after you've done that and go ahead and delete all your subscritptions you don't want

Unfortunately that didn't help...
Also, could anyone tell me how to unsubscribe from subscribed threads?

^^This. You manage your subscriptions from your profile page:

You can view your subscribed threads from this menu, select the ones you don't want, and then unsubscribe.

Found the setting:
Select all subscribed threads>Selected threads>Delete Subscriptions>Go
Problem solved. But could an admin please change the forum settings so that the "Subscribe to this thread" option is unchecked by default when one posts in a thread? It would be better.
