I am looking at three jackets to choose from :
Pearl Izumi Elite Softshell Jacket - $150
Canari Everest Softshell Jacket - $99
Bontrager Thermal Windblock Jacket - $125
What would be a good one? Thanks!

those look nifty. I used a cycling specific rain jacket and added reflective tape for the dark commutes. it blocked the wind just fine. for thermal protection I played with base layers and fleece shirts for the right balance. you put all your eggs in one basket and expect it to meet all conditions you'll be disappointed.

I hate riding in the cold so I know little about those jackets. But you can do a search by putting in the name and model of the jacket then type in "review" after that and you can read all the reviews anyone has ever posted about the jacket.
Also the Nashbar has a coupon code: holiday08 that will take another 10% off.
I have a Pearl Izumi waterproof windbreaker that I bought at REI with no special deal for $75.00 I think anything lightweight and waterproof will be fine.
