Chef at a full-service, high-volume restaurant; although we're closed tomorrow (as most businesses should be on Christmas, IMHO), Christmas Eve and all of next week will be monstrously busy. I'm headed into work at 4:30AM to feed about 500 people breakfast, then another probable 750 for lunch... fortunately, we close for the evening.

Got a college-age daughter who works at a cinema multi-plex, and who has to work Christmas night.

Somebody has to... just remember that next time you go out to eat, or shop, or to the movies on a holiday.

Nope, had the opportunity but turned it down. Lets also not forget flight crews, emergency services, health services, servicemen/women etc. Working through the holidays sux but someone has to.

I'm writing a book on beginning 3D animation. The second to last chapter is due on the 26th. So I'll be working through Christmas.

This is really the point where I have to put everything together. And its also the point where the actual book and it's outline have come derailled from each other. Much of what I was going to say in this chapter has been covered already. So I'm sitting here puzzled about what to do and create kind of a crecendo for it.

Family is all half a continent away. I've shared and donated as I can and helped 30 people, including 15 kids, ride in the holiday parade. so I'm feeling at peace. And I've laid in some goodies to nosh on while working, so it should be a quiet, but good day. I may even have time for the traditional showing of Santa Claus Conquers the Martians.

Working today, bike shop. Very slow. Getting out at 3pm to finish some light shopping and scurry home for some last minute Christmas day baking.

Really don't mind too much. Not too big on Christmas anyway.

11a - 11p Sat and Sun. Thankfully I'll be the only one in the building, and I have a 62 inch TV with cable and a DVD player. No plans for Christmas anyway, but it might have been nice to be off today. I'm also glad there is plenty of NFL, and the golf skills challenge to watch, though tomorrow might be a little rough until 4pm.

Do you work in a bar, gas station, or movie theater?

Not yet, I decided to wait it out. Gonna be a year more than likely, but going there in March just cause.

Worked into overtime Saturday. Would have volunteered to work today, but the place is closed. Will be getting up before the crack of dawn tomorrow to work, well into overtime. Happily.

I am always supposed to work the holidays, but there is always some young hot-shot without a family who wants the money who will cover for me at the last possible second every year. That is changing, though, so next year I might have to work the holidays...even though I have been at my job the longest (10+ years), have a family, and am twice the age of the young sports. Hmmmm.....
