Hey foldies,

Just completed a solo century ride with my Dahon Jetstream EX. It rained this morning, so, the road conditions were really wet...

Clocked-in 113km in 6hrs 11minutes at an average moving speed of 18.4km/h. Still had some problems with the gear shifting as the cogwheels 'jumped' intermittently..

Here are some photos from my ride..

At the KESAS Highway motorcycle lane..

After an hour of cycling in the rain, this is what you pick up from the road soup.. Grime, oil and dirt!

My shoes were soaking wet..

The worst looking saddles - after the rain..

Even my camelbak was wet.. I hauled about 10kgs of gear and personal items..

This bike is gonna get some serious hosing-down..

It rained for hours in the morning.. Making it really dangerous to ride on a route where heavy vehicles are abundant..

http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b153/sam_c_97/Projek%20Jugra/IMG_2099.jpg

Kept on raining.. and raining.. and raining..

Finally! After braving the rain for another 13km, I reached the junction towards Jugra Lama, a historical town in Selangor..

The junction..

A pretty straight-forward ride..

This is the way home..

The road is straight and leads right into a small village near Jugra Hill, a well-known spot for paragliders..

Taking a breather at a petrol station near Jenjarom town..

http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b153/sam_c_97/Projek%20Jugra/IMG_2173.jpg

After talking to a petrol attendant, I took a shortcut through a swamp where a highway is being built.. Cut short the journey by at least 12 kilometres..

http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b153/sam_c_97/Projek%20Jugra/IMG_2175.jpg

Road conditions were really rough.. Only heavy vehicles and some maniacs in their passenger cars were speeding on this unpaved road..

Great looking bike and it looks like you are in good shape and enjoy the ride :thumb:.

When looking at all the goo on your bike, how much of that would have been dust if it was not raining, and how much of it would find its way down into your lungs? Scary:twitchy:.

I know several peopel that used to be illegal refugees (until they became approved as UNHCR refugees and sent to other countrys) in Malaysia so seeing your pictures is strange but also great fun. I`ve heard aboyt the traffic on the roads more than once. Not sure I would have the courage to ride a bike in the larger citys.

Always enjoy seeing your pictures. These make a good case for having fenders on a touring bike!

Think we will pass on the "spare parts" soup this Christmas Eve, though...lol

The fenders would be a really good idea, it helps keep gunk off the bike, making it last longer. The front wheel is a biggest culprit usually, flicking up dirt onto the drivetrain like the chainring. The rear fender mostly protects the rider and probably makes things worse for the bike. The Bromptons have fenders and a large mudflap on the front, I once had a ride on a roadbike without fenders and a lot got picked up by the front wheel and flung at my feet.

A century in miles is your obvious next target :)
