Mountain Biking - Was I Scammed?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I just recently bought a 2001 Gt Aggressor 1.0 from an authorized Dealer after doing all my homework on the bike. I picked it up and when I saw it I was somewhat shocked to see a set of RS jett shocks when every official GT page and website had listed RS Judy TT as the original shock. I need some sure proof of this but cant find the info on the GTbicycles.com site.
Any suggestions?
HELP ME PLEASE!
Cheers

Did u happen to mention this to the bikeshop? The bike might have been shipped with the jett fork to the bike shop, thats why its on the bike....if you really want the judy TT, then ask them. The judy TT wont make your bike worth anymore, the TT and Jett are low end rockshox forks. They probably will perform the same too.

Ya, I would ask the Shop they should know. Tell them the official GT site said that they Have Judy shox not RS. See what they say. But i believe-If you really want them that is- that you can get them put on if it doesnt mess up the geometry. Ask the bike shop though to start.

Well after a bit more research, it seems GT changes parts for Canada distribution.? In the US it comes with JUDY TT and in Canada it comes with JETT. Doesnt make sense, but it is a lesson well learnt. The main reason I am quite perturbed is that after 2 months of researching bikes this is the one I chose. Guess it is not possible to trust the big guys to follow through with a one for all policy on bike specs!

#1, GT went bankrupt and was sold, so you can expect them to be clearing out every part in the warehouse rather then ordering new OE stuff. #2, every bike catalog has a line of fine print (usualy on the specs page) that says "some parts may vary" to cover them so that a shortage of one part does not stop the whole assemply process.
