Clydesdales/Athenas (200+ lb / 91+ kg) - Thurs GMR climb 12/29 with Hillbasher

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Been sick but figured I'd give GMR a try to play with the Garmin on a climb. Legs not bad, breathing ok once I warmed up but neck and head were hurting, darn illness. Well it did give Hillbasher a chance to launch the Bianchi he built up from scratch. A collection of parts he gathered but looking real nice!
2,382 gain according to the Garmin, 17 miles.
No meaning in the song, just a tune I like.

Yeah, Bianchi looks nice!:thumb:..Thanks, sinuses feel like a permanent Slurpee brain freeze!
Hi Beanz,
Will you be posting the Garmin stats from the ride? Id love to check out the elevation/time etc. If your unfamiiar, all you have to do is upload your ride to the Garmin website (Connect), use the "Lock" icon to make the report 'Public' and paste the URL here :)
Good luck!

Nothing really to admire. We cruised up then hung out at the top for a long time talking smack about forum posters.:D
I'll post a better ride/time later after I get over my sickness etc.:D
I think we hit the top at about 1:20 into the ride. On a good day, it takes an hour. This was a cruise. ;)
Did I do it right?

Yes- worked perfectly!
Yikes! 38 mph top speed !!! :)
Thats a lot of climbing in such a short distance. Make me feel guilty for just downing the last of the xmas mince pies.
"Holidays" are over for me as of last night. Started my local rides again and this time nobody tried to run me over :)

He he he! 42 might be a more "usual" max speed on this ride but I don't push it down hill much any more as most times we are trying to stay together on the descents. Most times I will be doing this climb with Gina so many of the times/stats I post in the future will actually be Gina's time and stats as I never leave her behind in the mountains, I worry about wild monkeys and stuff. :p
If I start training for a climbing ride, or do some MTB, the stats will be more "mine". ;)

Nice job, and an A+ on effort for being under the weather and still getting it done. One of my all time favorite groups, so thumbs up on the song choice as well. I like when folks post their Garmin data from the rides. You can save others routes, and possibly use them in the future if you're ever in the area. All cool stuff!!

Thanks! I'll be doing it again tomorrow with Gina and Alyce so the Garmin stats will more likely be theirs. Will be interesting (for me anyways:D).
