I have tried Ben Gay, Deep Heat, Icy Hot and other menthol/camphor type "heating" rubs and have been disappointed. Yesterday I bought a tube of Capzasin and tried it out on one knee. Felt kind of warm for the first half hour then BAM it got very warm, to the edge of getting uncomfortable. The heat slowly decreased over the next few hours and now nine hours later I can still feel slight warming.

Has anyone else ever used a cream with capsaisin as the active ingredient as an embrocation?

If you use Capzasin brand and your results are like mine, I would put it on an hour or two ahead of time and not put it under tight clothing until the initial heat begins to subside. I would also recommend applying it with nitrile or plastic gloves or some kind of applicator as once it gets on you hands, it is very hard to remove completely and there are places you would not want to get it like your eyes or privates. I washed my hands very well a couple of times and even gave them a rinse in whole milk (the street treatment for pepper spray or after handling hot peppers) before washing them again, and I could still feel a slight sting and had mild tearing when I rubbed my eye a couple hours later.

I like the warmth but didn't wear it under tight clothing today and haven't worn it riding yet. Any information about other's experiences with similar products would be appreciated.
